Sheida Majidi is a PhD student in Civil Engineering at Carleton University working under the supervision of Professor Shawn Kenny.
Sheida completed a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at Sharif University of Technology, Iran, in July 2017. She also received a master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology, in October 2020. Her master thesis was on numerically investigation of surface fault rapture hazard mitigation strategies.
Sheida’s PhD research will focus on studying the effects of geohazards, associated with permafrost terrain disturbances and hydrology, on the performance of the Hudson Bay Railway and develop tools to support informed decision making on adaptation strategies to mitigate climate change effects.
